How to Meet Jesus
And Jesus said unto them:

“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” John 6:37

The words in that marvelous verse of Scripture – “him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” – come from the very lips of the Son of the living God. Jesus may be talking to you in these words. In the darkness of your night, there is One who is closer to you than a brother. There is One so near that you can reach out and touch the hem of the seamless robe; One who understands you perfectly, who knows you better than you know yourself.

I don’t have to tell you that you are not born again, that you have never been regenerated. You are there without peace in your heart, without peace of mind. YOU KNOW THAT YOU NEED HIM. You need Him more than you need anything else in the whole world. There is a cry down deep inside, a cry for something that only Jesus can satisfy. And He has promised, “him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”

Yet, He cannot receive you unless you come to Him. YOU must take the first step. Remember, He paid the price for your pardon in full when He died on the cross. Your pardon is waiting for you. It has been purchased. It is yours, written in the blood of the Son of the living God, with the stamp of God Almighty and the Seal of Heaven upon that glorious pardon. REACH OUT AND ACCEPT IT! He is willing and He is waiting. It is yours, but it will never really be your full possession until you take that step of coming to Him, of accepting Him and receiving from Him.

You may ask, “HOW CAN I COME?” Come just as you are! No plea of righteousness on your part, without merit of your own. No man or woman can come into the presence of a holy God and plead any righteousness or any merit – for your righteousness and my righteousness in the sight of God are as filthy rags. We have nothing whatsoever to plead.

Simply come into His presence, confess your sins and the fact that you are a sinner. And sometimes I believe that is the hardest thing in the world for an individual to do – to confess his need for Christ as Savior, to confess his sins, to come in humility and say, “Jesus, I confess I am a sinner.”

But I promise you something…the very minute you do it, the very second that you see yourself as a sinner and accept Jesus as your personal Savior, the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, will cleanse you from your sin and un-righteousness. THAT VERY MINUTE HE WILL RECEIVE YOU!

Your prayer may be only a few words. Just look up with all the sincerity and the earnestness of your heart and being, be dead honest with God and say:

“Jesus, I come. I confess I am a sinner. Forgive my sins and come into my heart. Accept me just now.”

When you do, the Heavenly Father will hear that cry of repentance. He will accept the sincerity of your heart. Your prayer may be brief, but an entire life and all of eternity are involved, for at that moment the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, will cleanse you. In that moment, as your prayer of confession is breathed, the Holy Spirit will bear witness with your spirit that you have passed from death unto life. The peace of God will fill your mind and His peace will fill your heart. You will stand justified before God by faith.

Look up and begin thanking Him for what you know He has done for you, that He has heard your prayer of confession and that you now stand justified in the Heavenly Father’s presence, having accepted His Son as your Savior and Lord.
